Changes

We will be traveling home for the summer. When I daydream about the good ole U.S.A., I sometimes imagine a land with hover cars and retinal scanners on residential front doors. But, really, what has changed over the past two years? Whether it's a hot new TV show or a personal victory, we're inviting comments and observations about American life. What's the biggest or most interesting development in your surroundings in the past couple of years?

I don't know if this is new news for you or not, but "Alias" is out and "Lost" is in. Oh, and we've had ourselves a kid within the last few years.

Hey! I've actually watched all of season 1 of Lost, so that must mean I'm up-to-date. :) Funny how TV is an international culture now.

What are the new catch phrases? What's the political climate like locally? What are Americans afraid of? Blindly in support of? Anticipating? Surely Yahoo! and BBC News don't capture it all. Do they?!

Sorry I didn't respond to your question sooner. I was asking Darren about this, and we feel kind of old and out of the loop. As for catch phrases, I feel like there's still a small remnant of "Napoleon Dynamite" (and all that came with it) going on. Politically, people of both parties aren't completely confident in their leaders (this is me generalizing). I'm not sure if there's any general American sentiment of support or fear that I can speak of. B/c of things like Iraq, I think there's a good amount of division on many things.
